Property After Isle of Wight Release
WTRJ has specific procedures for property and account balances after custody ends. Personal property pickup runs from 8:00 a.m. to 3:00 p.m. on weekdays through the Property Department, with prearranged appointments available at 757-942-0545. Property ordinarily goes only to the inmate. A third person needs a submitted inmate request and senior approval, which is not guaranteed.
Released account balances are available through Administration in the main lobby from 8:00 a.m. to 3:45 p.m. on weekdays, excluding holidays and special events. WTRJ states that it discloses a balance only to the inmate. Payment is usually a debit card, while amounts under $25 are paid in cash. A district-office result can be consistent with physical release into supervision. Suffolk Probation and Parole District 6 serves all of Isle of Wight County. Isle of Wight Release Supervision
Physical release and complete discharge are not the same. Probation is court-ordered supervision that may follow jail time or be imposed instead of confinement. Parole is conditional release for an eligible sentence under rules applied by the Virginia Parole Board. Virginia ended discretionary parole for most felonies committed on or after January 1, 1995, but current law contains exceptions. A blanket claim that Virginia has no parole is wrong.

Isle of Wight Federal Releases

Isle of Wight Release Facility
Western Tidewater Regional Jail is the only adult detention facility that generates a facility page for Isle of Wight County. It is operated by the regional authority at 2402 Godwin Boulevard in Suffolk and serves Isle of Wight, Suffolk, Franklin, and a Hampton component. The jail's official history reports a VADOC-rated capacity of 552 and total bed capacity of 1,070.
No VADOC prison was found inside Isle of Wight County in the current state directory. A person sentenced to state custody can be placed elsewhere in Virginia.
